Description

We have worldwide experience running adventures everywhere from southern Spain to the Himalayas and many companies have seen the amazing development opportunities that can be gained from taking a team to experience a shared challenge in a different environment.   Some of our trips (to allow for such things as mountain access or altitude acclimatisation) often need to be rather longer than a company team might be able to spare, but we do have some great adventures that can be done on a short timeframe.

Do chat to us as we can tailor make many itineraries to suit different group sizes and timeframes, but we thought we’d share one possible option to give you a flavour of what is possible…..

Atlas Mountains Adventure

We have been visiting Morocco’s Atlas Mountains for many years and, given its short flight time from the UK and the easy transfer from Marrakech to the mountains, it is hard to beat for quick trips.  Add to that the uniqueness of Marrakech, our completely dialled in country logistics and the warm welcome you’ll receive and we have the perfect recipe for a great team adventure.  Oh, and if the team are up to it we can also ascend Jebel Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa.

Our standard Jebel Toubkal Quick Hit trip is the perfect short haul adventure.  On day one we fly out to Marrakech and travel to our cosy riad in the heart of the Atlas range. We’ll settle in, enjoy a home cooked meal and have a team briefing about the adventure ahead.

On day 2 we can enjoy breakfast on the rooftop terrace before walking up to the secluded Toubkal Refuge which will be our home for the next few days.  Conditions in the refuge are basic but it’s small price to play to enjoy its location.  We’ll have our own cook team with us so you’ll definitely eat well and there are essentials like showers.  It works.

On day 3 we will have a walk above the refuge to help hone our mountain legs and aid acclimatisation.  Then we’ll relax and prep ourselves for an early ascent of Jebel Toubkal.

Day 4.  It is a challenging ascent, but well within the capabilities of those with the fitness and determination.  On a fine day we can enjoy amazing views from across the rest of the Atlas range and down to the distant flatlands of the Sahara.  It is a special place.  After celebratory hugs, the all important photos and a chance to update Instagram (yes, you can get a great mobile signal from the summit of Toubkal!), we’ll head down the hill and back to the refuge.

From here there are 2 options.  It is possible to ascend Toubkal very early and get back to the refuge for late breakfast.  Then, after a good feed we head back down to the access village of Imlil and drive back to Marrakech to be there for the early evening.  This makes a very long day but means the trip can be fitted into a shorter timespan.  A more leisurely alternative is to descend to the refuge and relax there for the rest of the day before walking out in the morning of day 5.  This is definitely a more relaxed approach which has the advantage that the group can be back in Marrakech for early afternoon and, as a result, have more time to enjoy the sounds and sounds of the city.

Day 5 or 6 (depending which day we exited the mountains) .  Either way, whether its the long day option or the more leisurely walk out choice, we’ll end up back in Marrakech.  Our last night will be spent in one of the cosy and welcoming riad’s (small hotel) that border the famous main square of the city.  There is plenty to see and do and you might even choose to visit to a traditional Moroccan Hamman (bath house).  We will also need to head out for a celebratory final evening meal.  Time in Marrakech is the perfect finale to this amazing trip.

All that is left on our final day is to enjoy a final rooftop breakfast and, depending on flight times, you might have a bit more time for souvenir hunting in Marrakech.  Then, you’ll be transported back to the airport for the return flight.

An amazing mountain adventure combined with a city break – what could be a better team building adventure?  We can cater completely to your requirements and there is lots of possibilities to fill your time in Marrakech – just get in touch and we’ll share our experience to create your perfect itinerary.
