Description
Double Black Bike Repairs are a team of passionate cyclists and mountain bike coaches. We have built and maintained our own bikes for years and love nothing more than keeping people riding. So, our bike repair and build service seamlessly links with our mountain bike skills courses and our love of all things two wheels. We are Cytech qualified bike mechanics and, of course, full insured. Cytech is the internationally recognised training and accreditation scheme for bicycle technicians.
Our workshop is based in the Peak District National Park village of Castleton and you are welcome to bring your bike to us by arrangement. We also offer both a mobile repair service and collect and return option in the local area.
We feel privileged to live and work in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Riders flock here from all over the world and we know why. We also know how frustrating it can be to travel somewhere for a bike ride and a mechanical problem stops play. If you are visiting the local area and need assistance with your bike do get in touch. We can’t promise, but will always try and help if we can.
Our focus is on offering both the very best service and down to earth advice. Our aim is to get people riding safely and with as little expense as possible. We will always discuss your requirements and give you an accurate quote before undertaking any work. We are also realistic. If we don’t feel we can help with your bike we will tell you, although we’ll also try and point you to someone who can. Please don’t hesitate to Contact Us or call chief mechanic Ben on 07927404506 to discuss your requirements.
Double Black Bike Repairs is also proud to be a registered provider for the government Fix Your Bike voucher scheme. This innovative scheme is open to anyone in England who has an unused cycle in need of a repair. Vouchers can only be used with bike repairers or mechanics that are registered for the scheme in England, and up to two vouchers can be claimed per household. A great option to get your old Penny Farthing back on the road!

Does my bike have to be clean before it is repaired?
We can only work on clean bikes, but we appreciate that you may not have the time or facilities to clean your bike before bringing it to us. If dirty bikes are brought to us we can clean them for you but do need to charge £18 for this service. This will include quality cleaning products and our typical attention to detail.
Can we give you a quote before you bring your bike to us?
We will happily give you a rough quote before you bring you bike in. This should help you decide if our services are of interest. We will then give a firm quote when we see your bike. We will never carry out any work without contacting you first.
What qualifications do your mechanics have?
All of the work carried out on your bike is done by a Cytech qualified mechanic. Cytech is the industry recognised standard.
Do you offer a guarantee for repairs carried out?
We stand by every repair that we make. If you are unhappy with any work that we have done for you then just get in touch and we will do everything we can to sort it out as soon as possible.
