Description
The Derwent Valley is stunning. Steep sided tree lined slopes run down to tranquil reservoirs and it offers great opportunities for adventure. It has also become famous for its vital role as a a testing ground for Barnes Wallace’s bouncing bomb which was to play such a vital role in the Dambuster raids of the Second World War.
Peak Mountaineering’s own Dambuster Dash offers a challenging itinerary aimed at exploring the valley on 2 wheels. Teams use the network of tracks that circle the valley and along the way search for clues left at strategic points. The route can be set at varying difficulty levels and so we can make this a suitable challenge for all experience levels. There are also opportunities to split groups to vary the challenge level if preferred. Be reassured though – whichever route we take you will be riding in stunning surroundings.
We will provide qualified mountain bike guides with great local knowledge and bike hire facilities are available locally. There are also several start and finish points depending on the team’s time frame. Riding in the Peak District National Park really doesn’t get better and we’ve used this superb location with groups large and small.
