Litter Collection Equipment Loan Scheme

What?

We are delighted to announce the birth of our Litter Collection Equipment Loan Scheme – and we really hope you’ll jump on board.  With generous support from Rab and Lowe Alpine, our office now contains a batch of litter grabbers and gloves that are completely free for anyone to use.

Who?

Maybe you live locally or are visiting the area? Either way, we hope you’ll borrow some sets and do a litter collection session to help us clean up our precious National Park.  Whether you can spare 10 minutes or 10 hours – every piece collected is one less item of litter and together we can all make a difference.

If you are out for a family walk why not take some equipment along?  If you are heading into a climbing crag it is easy to clear some litter en route. Or, of course, you could even make the litter collection THE reason for your walk!

How?

The equipment is available for collection from our office or we are often out and about around the area and can meet up to deliver equipment to you if you are staying locally.  We will provide some basic guidance on risk management, but please do note that each user is responsible for their own safety and parents will obviously need to manage their children carefully.

What Next?

For us this is only the start of what we hope will be an expanding and developing scheme.   If you feel you can help in any way then we’d love to hear from you.  We want, for example, to create a unique logo and develop some hashtags to encourage people to share their efforts on social media and spread the word about the litter problems we all face.  The project is as much about education as it is about clearing up the park.

The litter collection equipment loan scheme concept is simple and we hope the results will soon be noticeable.  Please do get involved, spread the word and help be the difference. A huge thanks to Rab and Lowe Alpine for helping us to get this off the ground and all the details on how to book equipment are available on our dedicated website page here.
