Regular readers of the Peak Mountaineering blog will know we are big fans of watchmaker Elliot Brown. What’s not to love – they make beautiful watches designed for extreme conditions, are owned and run by a small team with decades of experience and they use their business to do great things supporting causes such as veterans charities, the RNLI and mountain rescue. Well now they are at it again. In a unique collaboration Elliot Brown has partnered with Land Rover to produce a new watch called the Land Rover X Elliot Brown Holton Professional.
This new and strictly limited edition version will be available from this autumn and is currently being put through its paces by a team of four university students who are rowing unassisted for 2000 miles in the GB Row Challenge. Even better, they are using the challenge to raise money for the British Red Cross and JustOneOcean.
The team’s progress can be tracked here and donations for the British Red Cross and JustOneOcean can be placed via Just Giving here. Meanwhile, interest in the new limited edition Land Rover X Elliot Brown Holton Professional watch can be registered via Land Rover’s Above & Beyond website here and it will retail for £499 when it becomes available in the Autumn.
The Land Rover x Elliot Brown watch is based on the original Elliot Brown Holton Professional that was developed in partnership with a specialist branch of the UK armed forces. Built to withstand extreme military field tests and harsh environments, it was the first British designed military watch to be supplied to the unit in more than a decade. Paul has already done a detailed review of the Elliot Brown Holton Professional, so please do check it out on the blog here. To register your interest in this new watch please visit the Lan Rover website here.
