Welcome to our COVID-19 December 2021 update. This explains our current provision and details the state of play for upcoming bookings. We hope it provides the information needed and the reassurance you need to book with confidence. Of course, we are always available to chat through your requirements. Mountain Activity Courses & Training
We have been able to share many great adventures over the summer and autumn period and hope we can continue to offer courses without restrictions throughout the winter months and into spring and summer 2022 next year. However, as we write this the spread of the Omicron variant threatens us all and the government guidance could change at any point.
With this in mind, we are still taking bookings as normal and all of our upcoming bookings are fully covered by our COVID guarantee (this is detailed below). Beyond that, we still have COVID control measures in place and we are asking course participants to take account of any local restrictions. Otherwise, at the current time we can deliver courses and adventures as usual.
Our overseas trips remain on hold. We are still hopeful that our winter Norway ice climbing trips and trips later in the year will be able to run. We know many people need something to look too. Please do Contact Us if you want to discuss an upcoming trip. For peace of mind, all of our overseas bookings are also fully covered by our COVID guarantee.
Tor Lea Training First Aid Courses
All of our ITC first aid courses continue to run with COVID modifications. We are following all guidelines issued by our awarding organisation (ITC) and the First Aid Quality Partnership (FAQP), which includes the HSE, Awarding Organisations (including ITC), Voluntary Aid Sector providers and others.

Double Black Bike Repairs
Double Black are fully open as usual and we have been exceptionally busy. We are still offering our socially distanced collection and delivery service in the local area. You are also welcome to visit our workshop by appointment. Details on all Double’s Blacks services are detailed here.

Our COVID-19 Guarantee
We want you to have the confidence to book a course with us without the risk of losing your payment. Our guarantee is simple. If you are unable to proceed with your booking we will offer you a refund or change of course date as prefered.
This is whether due to government restrictions related to Covid-19 or a change in your personal circumstances. This could include changes to government guidance or enforced self-isolation or illness. We are applying this guarantee to all bookings until the COVID-19 crisis is resolved.
How Are We Making Things As Safe As Possible?
All of our activities adhere to the government COVID Secure criteria regarding health, social distancing and hygiene.
We are also accredited through the Visit Britain ‘We’re Good To Go’ industry standard. This requires businesses to complete appropriate risk assessments and to undertake a self assessment process.
Our updated systems ensure good hygiene practices are in place during courses. Equipment is also managed between courses to eliminate virus transmission risk. For our first aid courses we have changed some aspects of our delivery. We feel confident we can supply the top quality training experience we are known for with minimal disruption to participants.
All participants are still required to complete a COVID-19 Medical Declaration before attending a course.
We Are Staying Flexible
Our COVID-19 December 2021 update explains the current position and we will continue to keep a close watch on government guideline changes to ensure we are ready to strengthen or relax measures at short notice. Our practices are also ready to adapt if there are any changes to scientific advice.
