Scrambling

Introduction

We love scrambling and our clients do too.  It is mountain adventure in its purest form. It is fantastic fun.  How else do you get to be in some of the busiest mountain areas and yet have whole mountain routes completely to yourself?

Scrambling is the grey area between walking and climbing.  The chance to get off the popular footpaths on to some awesome mountain terrain that despite looking impossible at first glance, offers those ‘in the know’ relatively easy passage to the best summits in Britain.  Best of all, scrambling suits anyone with reasonable hillwalking fitness and a good head for heights.

Peak Mountaineering offer scrambling courses for everyone.  Whether you are a hill walker who wants to get off the beaten track every now and again or a rock climber who wants to learn the art of moving fluidly over scrambling terrain.

We also offer our ever popular scrambler to climber course – designed for experienced scramblers who want to venture onto the easier grade rock climbs.

Our scrambling courses are extremely flexible and the itineraries listed are simply examples of the types of trips we run and the places we go – if you have a specific objective in mind (Cuillin Ridge anyone?!), or would like to focus on particular skills, please call or email us and we’ll organise it for you.

I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in.
