Trek & Mountain Stok Kangri Sponsorship Update....

8th Jun 2015

Our Trek and Mountain Magazine Stok Kangri 2015 team is shaping up very nicely and we really can’t wait to be back in Ladakh this summer.  Stunning mountains, tranquil and unspoilt valleys, incredibly friendly locals, fascinating culture and, of course, the chance to climb the highest mountain in the Stok mountain range - this really is an expedition with everything.  It’s our favourite itinerary and one that, while it will certainly challenge team members, is suitable for those new to the Himalayas.

This expedition is being run for our good friends at Trek and Mountain Magazine and it is rather special. Trek and Mountain is Britain’s leading magazine for mountaineers and trekkers visiting the remoter mountain ranges.  The magazine has forged an enviable reputation as the essential resource for adventurers and we are delighted to have worked with them for a number of years.  Paul wrote an article for the magazine about Stok Kangri a few years ago and we are delighted that, when they decided to offer a select range of expeditions, they saw our Stok itinerary as a suitable objective for their readers.  Check out the T&M website here.

For this expedition we are also absolutely delighted to be supported by three leading outdoor brands and each participant will recieve an unbelievable package of equipment to use on the trip.

Rab Equipment needs very little introduction.  From early beginnings as the brainchild of legendary mountaineer Rab Carrington, the brand has gone from strength to strength constantly focussing on producing industry leading clothing and accessories.  Rab make use of cutting edge fabrics and state of the art technologies and their clothing is the choice of many of the worlds leading moun-taineers and explorers.  Their garments will be perfect for the challenging conditions of our expedition.  Rab have a superb new website here.

Lowe Alpine are also supporting our expedition and again it is fantastic to have them on board.  The company, founded by Greg Lowe and his brothers Jeff and Mike in 1967, has grown to become a leading international manufacturer of top performing rucksacks and durable travel luggage.   Jeff and his brothers produced the world’s first internal framed rucksack and we’ll be taking advantage of that pedigree when expedition members use their products in India.  Lowe Alpine's website is here.

Polartec are another company that needs no introduction and their expertise will make a huge dif-ference to the success of our adventure. Polartec started as the original synthetic fleece and now offers a collection of over 300 different fabrics.  Their fabrics are some of the most advanced per-formance textiles available today and many of the Rab garments expedition members will be using take advantage of these materials.  Polartec can keep you warm when it’s cold, keep you dry when you sweat, even repel wind, rain and snow to protect you from the elements.  Infact they are the perfect textiles for the Ladakh climate and we are extremely grateful for their generous support. Polartec's website is here.

Collectively these legendary manufacturers have generously provided a fantastic sponsorship package in the form of a brilliant selection of equipment for all team members.  As we have now finalised the details we are really keen to share this both with booked team members and a few more potential members who may want to climb on board.  All team members will be provided with a staggering package worth £1000.  Yes….that really is £1000!  The package comprises the following incredibleness…..
