Industry Leading First Aid - Industry Leading Venue

18th Apr 2012

Peak Mountaineering is extremely proud to be a provider of ITC First Aid courses.

Proud because we believe ITC teaching methods are the best in the industry.

Proud because we try to make the courses as enjoyable and interactive as possible and, proud, above all else, because we’ve been able to help so many outdoor instructors, teachers, forest school practitioners, expeditioners and a host of adventure enthusiasts become better prepared for the unexpected.

We’ve run our courses very successfully within the Hope Valley for some time but today we’ve started a brilliant collaboration that will improve our courses even more.  From July we’ll be running all our ITC First Aid courses from the excellent base of the Hollowford Centre in Castleton.

Castleton is our home village and it’s a brilliant base for a course.  Great accommodation options, plenty of places to eat out, world class outdoor activities and just a relaxed place to spend a few days – Castleton really does have it all.

The Hollowford Centre is also a great place to come for a course.  Sitting peacefully in the shadow of MamTor and surrounded by stunning open countryside, yet only a five-minute walk from the hustle and bustle of the village centre.  You really won’t find anywhere better for your training.

For this year we have 3 scheduled 16-hour outdoor courses remaining on the calendar (besides our May course which is full) – we run them roughly every two months.  You’ll find all the dates on our calendar here.  These courses are perfect for outdoor professionals and enthusiasts alike - they will both validate NGB qualifications and prepare you for first aid emergencies in remote areas.

The standard course cost is £125 but we offer a range of incentives and discounts.  Anyone booking on to one of our NGB award courses can attend a course for half price.  Members of AMI, MLTA, BCU, IOL or the BCU get 10% discount and to celebrate our new collaboration we are also offering an early booking incentive.  Anyone who books a course before the end of June will receive a whopping 20% off.  That brings the cost of a course for 2012 down to a bargain price of £100 (please note that this discount can’t be used in conjunction with other discounts).  Same great course – but far cheaper!

‘Paul delivered this course in an engaging and relaxing way. We were taught the theory and then went to put this into practise, recapping each step as a new step was learnt. We worked in pairs and also coached each other throughout our learning. This was different to the first aid courses I had attended in the past where you are put on the spot having to show the whole group how to do CPR! Even when Paul was assessing our abilities to carry out e.g. CPR, he was discreet and therefore you did not feel under pressure. I would certainly recommend this course to anyone.’  (Trip Advisor Review – Janet, March 2012)

‘I approached our one-day Essential First Aid Training with a sense of deja-vu. Having attended several similar courses in my working life (and that's not including Brownies), I was prepared for the usual routine. I was very pleasantly surprised however, by the Peak Mountaineering course to the extent that I have added my review here. The instructor, Paul was knowledgeable and presented the material in an engaging and appealing way. I felt at ease with the practical tasks and by the end of the day found I had enjoyed myself! I would recommend this course to anyone needing initial First-Aid training or a refresher.’ (Trip Advisor Review – Jane, October 2011)
