Winter Course Travel Info

We have deliberately based our courses in as accessible a location as possible and there are several ways to get to Aviemore.

For course participants in the south of England the best option may be to fly although we have many clients who travel by train and our winter base is only a short walk from the station.  For others the flexibility of a car will be preferred, but please don’t leave yourself facing too long a journey at the end of a tiring course.

By Road

Having your own vehicle gives plenty of flexibility and allows you to come and go as you wish.  Getting to Aviemore by car is easy as it sits just off the main A9 trunk road running from the south to beyond Inverness.  Journey times are about 90 minutes from Perth,  150 minutes from Glasgow and 30 minutes from Inverness.

By Train

Aviemore has easy train links to Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh.  There is a also a direct service from London which includes a sleeper service.

By Bus

Citylink and Megabus stop at Aviemore from Inverness travelling South and from Edinburgh and Glasgow travelling North.  Stagecoach operate the local bus services around the Aviemore and Cairngorms area and Megabus have introduced a new sleeper bus service from London.

Travelling by Air

Inverness Airport is the nearest to Aviemore and services run from many Uk destinations including London (Gatwick and Luton), Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Belfast.  Once in Inverness you can either use one of the taxi services or car hire services listed or travel to Aviemore by train or bus (see details below).
