Winter Courses

Winter is a very special time to be in the mountains but some feel it is beyond their reach because of the specific skills needed to access it safely. All that's really needed is some quality instruction and the chance to develop the necessary skills in a supportive and friendly environment.  Peak Mountaineering has been delivering winter training for many years and we love nothing more than to share our knowledge and passion for the winter environment.  In the course options below you should find a Peak Mountaineering itinerary to suit your experience level and aspirations but, if not, just get in touch and we'll design the right package for you.

We also work hard to make your winter adventures as simple to organise and as cost effective as possible.  Our courses are based in the heart of the Highlands where, from our base at Aviemore Youth Hostel, we can access the very best of the UK's winter mountains.  This also allows us to offer comfortable accommodation which will ensure your winter evenings are cosy and sociable (details here).  Aviemore is easy to access (we have added some useful travel information here) and we supply technical equipment free of charge and have boot hire facilities available (details here).  All you need are suitable clothes and a sense of adventure.

A selection of recent client reviews of our winter courses are available here.

We have also compiled a list of frequently asked questions about winter courses which is available here.
