Tying a French Prussik knot.....

10th Aug 2017

The Peak Mountaineering juniors have been hammering the editing software to create the second in our essential friction knots series.  Following our first video, which detailed how to tie the Classic Prussik (which you can find here), it is time for the super useful French Prussik.

The French has loads of applications and, as well as being easy to tie and move up a rope, it also has the advantage of being quite easy to release under load.  This can sometimes be a disadvantage though as it can potentially slip if the knot is knocked from above - it is always about choosing the right knot for the job.  Enjoy this latest epic blockbuster.......
